The C-Word
The FCC is investigating what they are calling a “serious breach of broadcasting decency laws” by singer Anita Savior on the live daytime talk show The Shrew. The hostesses of the popular show were collectively “shocked” when their guest suddenly blurted out the C-Word.
Among the banned 8 words that the High Court has ruled you cannot say on broadcast media, the C-Word stands supreme as the most offensive.
Horrified network officials were quick to issue an apology once the “inappropriate” term was broadcast on national television. They concluded that this was no “verbal malfunction,” but was instead a deliberate act. Anita Savior has been permanently banned as a guest.
“I felt completely violated,” said co-hostess Libby Mann-Eater, who broke down in tears of rage on the next day’s live broadcast. “I can’t believe that little b&*#@ actually used that word on this program! What a vile, disgusting &*$#!”
Co-hostess and U.N. Civil Rights spokesperson Miss Libby Intolerance agreed. “She violated our television audience by using the C-Word. The U.N. is working towards a permanent, punishable global ban that divisive, oppressive term.”
The C-Word, is, of course, Christ.
“You can talk about spiritually and Oprah will gush on you. You can even say God on TV and nobody blinks. Say Dali Llama, Buddha, or even Allah, and all is well. But mention Jesus Christ and suddenly even so-called spiritual people go berserk,” said Anita Savior.
She continued, “Talk about double standards! You can’t lampoon or criticize any spiritual leader, movement or teaching, no matter how insane or vile, unless it just happens to be the Lord Jesus Christ. Then it’s open season. How come only Jesus is used as a curse word?”
Anita further contends her use of the C-Word was appropriate noting the show’s moderator did ask her who the greatest influence on her life was. “I answered truthfully, ‘The Lord Jesus Christ.’” Miss Savior’s recording and touring contract has been cancelled, according to her ex-agent, on grounds of ‘creative differences.’
Jesus’ exclusive claims of being the way, and not a way, to God, are seen today as intolerant and hateful. In John 14:6, “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No-one comes to the Father except through me.’”
Do you believe there are many paths to God? The Bible says, in Proverbs 16:25, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.” God does not traffic in opinion polls. His Truth overrides all that seems right to people. He promises in Romans 10:9, “That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Jesus promised in Luke 12:8-9, “I tell you, whoever acknowledges me before men, the Son of Man will also acknowledge him before the angels of God. But he who disowns me before men will be disowned before the angels of God.”
We each have a choice to make. We can be acknowledged as belonging to Jesus Christ or we can be disowned by him for all eternity. All of life is about what you finally chose to do with the C-Word.
Anita Savior. And you?
